Weather & Hazard Alert Radio

Always be prepared with a hazard alert radio. Midland 2 Way offers many radios with hazard and inclement weather alert. For home use we carry SAME desktop weather radios, analog desktop radios, and a handheld weather radio. Our SAME (specific area message encoding) radios allow you to specify your exact area so that you only receive warnings that are relevant to where you live. All of our SAME radios have a digital display and are Public Alert Certified. Our analog desktop all hazard alert radio receives broadcasts up to 50 miles from transmitter and has seven channels for best reception. It also automatically switches from am/fm radio to your local N.O.A.A. (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) weather broadcast whenever they activate their alert tone. Our handheld weather radio is perfect to carry with you around the house or to take with you wherever you go. For emergencies or outdoor excursions Midland 2 Way offers emergency crank radios. No matter where you are or what the situation is, with some cranking you’ll have a working radio. These radios can double as a flashlight and a 2-way radio as well as receiving NOAA hazard alerts. If your preference is to sail the open waters, then one of our Nautico marine radios would be ideal for you to have with you. Our Nautico1 marine radio has 88 marine channels, up to a 14 mile range, 10 NOAA weather channels, and works as a 2-way radio. Our Nautico3 marine radio has all marine channels, is waterproof, is a NOAA all hazards alert weather radio, and also works as a 2-way radio.

Midland S.A.M.E. Alert Weather Radio – Relevant Warnings

For localized warnings, purchase a Midland S.A.M.E. Alert Weather Radio. Your radio can be programmed with your county, parish, independent city, or marine area codes. When the NWS (National Weather Service) office nearest to you broadcasts a warning, watch, or non-weather emergency, it will also broadcast a digital SAME code for the specific area that it affects. If they broadcast one of your codes that you have programmed into your Midland S.A.M.E. Alert Weather Radio, then you will hear an attention signal followed by the broadcast message. We currently offer 2 models of S.A.M.E. weather radios and both are Public Alert Certified. First, the Midland WR-300 is an AM/FM digital radio with auto switch to all hazard alerts when applicable. The WR-300 conveniently displays the date & time, and comes equipped with an alarm clock, plus the ability to program up to 23 county codes. Our Midland WR-100C is similar, but has 25 programmable county codes as well as power back-up in case of a power outage.
